Dear Sir

I am writing in respect of your enquiry for information held by this
Authority received on 23 February 2021 and to confirm that we have
completed the search for the information that you requested.  The
information you have sought is set out below.

 1. What is the councils lowest pay grade and what is the starting figure
of this grade.

The lowest grade is Grade L and the starting figure for this grade is
currently £17,399.

 2. How many of your full time (not zero hour) employees are not on the
councils “grade” pay system. What is their exact pay and role. This
does not include directors or the chief executive. Please give the
yearly amount they are paid before tax and their role.

The only employees who are not on the Council's pay grade system are
apprentices. They are paid in accordance with the apprenticeship rates and
national minimum wage for their age.

 3. Who is your lowest paid officer in the council and what is/ are their
role/s. Please also give their job title.

With the exception of the apprentices mentioned above, all other posts are
within the Dover Pay Grades and therefore there are a number of posts
which fall within the lowest Grade L.

 4. How many employees are on the national minimum wage at the council and
what are their roles within the Council.

11 Apprentice roles are on the national minimum wage according to their
age.

 5. In the past 5 years have the council paid any full time employee under
£10,000 a year (before tax).

In the year 2016/17 there were 6 apprentices who were paid under £10,000.
The payment would have been in accordance with the apprentice rates at
that time.

In the year 2017/18 there were 2 apprentices who were paid under £10,000.
The payment would have been in accordance with the apprentice rates at
that time.

There have been no other employees paid under that amount since that time.
