Dear British Film Institute,
I just wanted to follow up on my request regarding the details of funding provided to filmmakers from 2012-2017.

Kindly inform if there is an issue that has delayed the response and if I can do anything to speed up the process. I am expecting to receive the data electronically.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Surabhi Redkar,

I refer to your request of the 13 November.

In response, I can confirm that:

• Details of all production fund awards which include Name of the Film (Title) and the Amount Awarded can be found on the DCMS website at http://www.lottery.culture.gov.uk/Search... , therefore a Section 21 exemption of the FOIA applies i.e. the Information requested is reasonably accessible.

• With regard to your request for the ethnicity and gender relating to the filmmakers; we believe that the release of this information would contravene the first data protection principle and therefore section 40 (2) of the FOIA applies.

Regards,

BFI FOI
