Lorries and Trucks theory based test scores by ethnicity for 2017-18
Dear Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency,
I am researching possible adverse impact from selection tests. As such, I would like to request the theory-based test scores for Lorry and Truck drivers by ethnic group for the 2017-18 year. Specifically, if possible, I would like the sample sizes, average scores, and standard deviations by ethnic group (based on all data across test centres) for the year.
Please provide the average scores and standard deviations to two decimal points (i.e., two significant figures). I previously requested Bus and Coach driving test scores and would like, if possible, scores in a similar format.

Note, it is not clear that the scores will be the same for Lorry and Truck drivers and for Bus and Coach drivers since they represent different samples, hence I am interested in this data too.
Yours faithfully,

Our response:
DVSA is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of
its work and unconscious bias training is mandatory for all staff.
The driver testing and training regime tests candidates’ ability to drive
safely and responsibly as well as making sure they know the theory behind
safe driving. All candidates are assessed to the same level and the result
of their test is entirely dependent on their performance on the day.
We constantly monitor our examiners’ performances to ensure they conduct
and assess driving tests in accordance with the standards set; this
includes the supervision of live tests.
Please see Annex A attached.
If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your request, you can ask
for an internal review to be conducted by our Information Management and
Security Team by emailing: [3][email address]
Yours sincerely
