In March 2016 Transport for London asked WhatDoTheyKnow to remove the response to this request on the grounds the information could be used to access a train or commit crime against a train driver.

We have decided not to remove the information and have suggested Transport for London contact the police, or seek an order from the courts, if they really think our publication of this material poses a significant risk.

Diagram information does not identify an individual driver - it shows the Diagram number and if a train is formed of 1 or 2 units. All the other information (and more!) shown is already available in the NR Working Timetables which are available on the NR Website. You can even access through NR, diagrams of track layouts and speed limits, etc., and through open access Apps you can see signal locations, aspects and even live locations of trains! TfLs reasoning for withholding the very minimal and innocuous Diagram information is spurious to say the least and would probably not withstand a judicial review.
