Dear Mr. Nicholson,

I am writing in response to your request to the House of Lords Administration.

1. The total cost of a) developing and b) hosting (per annum) the Lords Digital Chamber website at http://www.lordsdigitalchamber.co.uk/.

The total cost of development was £15,144. The cost of hosting is £300 per annum.

2. The total number of visitors to the Lords Digital Chamber website in the last 12 months.

The site has been online since April 2013, but was in beta (test) mode until launch in November 2013, we were not actively promoting the website during this time.

The total number of visits since April 2013 is 3,636 (2,494 unique visitors).

The website was formally launched on 20 November 2013, since then we have had 2,769 visits to the site (2,171 unique visitors).

3. Any specific targets set by the House of Lords for the number of visitors to the Lords Digital Chamber website.

Our target is 5000-7000 visits in the first year from launch (Nov 2013>Nov 2014).

4. Any emails sent during the last 12 months between House of Lords staff, or between House of Lords staff and Members of the House of Lords, that make reference to commercial information or advertising appearing in tweets on the Lords Digital Chamber website.

The House Administration does not hold any e-mails relevant to this aspect of your request. I am attaching a copy of the disclaimer which may be of interest.

I hope this is helpful.

You may, if dissatisfied with the treatment of your request, ask the House of Lords to conduct an internal review. This should be addressed to [email address] or to the Freedom of Information Officer, House of Lords, London SW1A 0PW and explain clearly the nature of your complaint. Arrangements will be made for someone who has not been involved in dealing with your request to conduct an internal review within 20 working days.

If, following this review, you remain dissatisfied with the House’s treatment of your request for information; you may then take your complaint to the information commissioner at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
