Long Covid statistics by NHS Trust

The request was partially successful.

Dear The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn, NHS Foundation Trust,

Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the following information on the number of staff impacted by long Covid under your trust.

How many staff members were recorded to have had long Covid while working for your trust at any time in the period between March 2020 - September 2021?

What were the five longest periods in days that a member of staff took a leave of absence due to long Covid in the time period between March 2020 - September 2021?

Could you state all leave of absences taken where long Covid was cited as the cause between March 2020 and September 2021.

Does your trust offer any specialised support for staff members living with long Covid? If so could you please provide details of these services.

What plans, if any, are in place to improve the support available to staff members who are living with long Covid while working for your trust?

Yours faithfully,

Grace Pritchard

Dear Grace

I write further to your Freedom of Information request, as set out below.
Please see our responses as follows, set out against your original
questions:

How many staff members were recorded to have had long Covid while working
for your trust at any time in the period between March 2020 - September
2021?

"Long covid" is not a recordable reason for absence on our system, and we
therefore do not hold this information.

What were the five longest periods in days that a member of staff took a
leave of absence due to long Covid in the time period between March 2020 -
September 2021?

Not recorded - see above

Could you state all leave of absences taken where long Covid was cited as
the cause between March 2020 and September 2021.

Not recorded - see above

Does your trust offer any specialised support for staff members living
with long Covid? If so could you please provide details of these services.

Yes - our Occupational Health team offer a Covid Clinic, where staff can
be seen as often as they need or want to be seen.  We also offer
psychological support to these staff members, and refer them to other
services if needed i.e. Physiotherapy, Clinical Psychology and any other
services we can access, depending on their presenting symptoms.

What plans, if any, are in place to improve the support available to staff
members who are living with long Covid while working for your trust?

Our Covid Clinics are ongoing, and we are also looking at temporary or
permanent re-deployment or altering working shift patterns within staff
members' current job roles, depending on the individual staff member and
their respective symptoms/concerns.

Yours sincerely
