London Underground

The request was successful.

Dear Transport for London,

Please provide the information below for the following lines: Jubilee, Bakerloo, Metropolitan, Piccadilly and Central Lines. The information should be held with the Rolling Stock Department.

How many train sets does each line have e.g. Bakerloo line 33 ‘6 car’ sets?

What is peak vehicle requirement (PVR) for each line- how many train are required for the morning/evening peaks (also include the PVR for the weekends)?

For each line how many train sets are kept as spares/standby so that in the event of train breakdown a replacement can be provided for service?

Is rolling stock repair work generally carried out overnight?

How is Rolling Stock maintenance generally organized for instance is light work carried out during the day while heavier maintenance is carried out at night or on the weekends?

Between 1st January – 1st March 2018 for the above lines how many trains have broken down while in passenger service?

For future programs i.e. new tube train for London will additional train sets be purchased to be kept as spares etc.

What is the fastest accelerating train on the London Underground and are the accelerating speeds limited in the interest of passenger comfort/safety?

Yours faithfully,

Ryan Duff
