Dear Mr Turner,
The Freedom of Information Act obliges us to respond to requests promptly and no later than 20 working days after receiving your request. However, when a qualified exemption applies to the information and the public interest test is engaged, the Act allows the time for response to be longer than 20 working days, and a full response must be provided within such time as is reasonable in all circumstances of the case.
We do, of course, aim to make all decisions within 20 working days, including in cases where we need to consider the public interest test.
We can confirm that LS185 hold some of the information requested and LS185, LLDC and E20 are in discussion on the application of the public interest, however, we have not yet reached a decision on where the balance of the public interest lies.
In your case we have estimated that it will take an additional 20 working days to reach a decision. Therefore, we plan to let you have a response by 27 February 2017. If it appears that it will take longer than this to reach a decision, we will keep you informed. If we are able to provide you with our response before this date, we will obviously do so.
The exemption that applies in relation to your request and that requires the extra time in order to consider the public interest is: section 31(1)(a) – Law enforcement; the prevention or detection of crime.
We will keep you informed of our progress and provide you with our response to your request as soon as we are able.
Yours sincerely
Rachael
Dear foi,
The date for the extension for responding to my original FOI request (27/02/2017) has now passed. Please can you advise as to when a response will be provided?
Yours sincerely,
Paul Turner
Dear Mr Turner,
Please also accept my apologies for the delay in responding to this request. We are still conducting the public interest assessment in relation to this request for the exemption s.31(1)(a) - Law enforcement.
I will schedule another 20 working days (27 March 2017) but will again do everything I can to get the response to you as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely
Rachael
Dear Mr Turner,
My apologies for the delay. I believe I will be able to send the response for this request to you by the end of next week at the latest.

Rachael
