London Regiment?

The request was refused by British Army.

Dear British Army,

Following the recent reductions to the army under 'Future Soldier', it seems that the London Regiment will effectively be disbanding. Each of the companies are to become 'part of' the host regiments, including (for example) G (Messines) Company, Scots Guards which was the London Scottish. (ref here:https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5...). My question is therefore: Will the London Regiment (London Guards from summer) be an operational regiment, or more-or-less remain a cadre HQ with the individual companies being part of the Guards' regiments now? If the London Guards will remain, will the regiment now just be a loosely-based grouping of companies, or will the regiment actually deploy as a battalion if needed?

Yours faithfully,

Justin Zacchi
