Dear Croydon Borough Council,

Given its own commitment to paying its employees above the London Living Wage (as outlined in 2 December Council Question and Answer CQ578-13), does the Council include within its tendering documents a requirement on private companies to commit themselves to paying at least the London Living Wage.

How many Council employers are paid at the minimum rate of pay (that exceeds the London Living Wage)?

How many library staff were paid at 30 September 2013 at the Council’s minimum rate of pay?

What commitment did JLIS Ltd give to continuing to pay those staff at at least the same rate of pay with increases in line with those for the LLW?

What is the contractual requirmenet on Kingdom Security to pay its workers in the fixed penalty notice pilot scheme at least the London Living Wage?

Yours faithfully,

Sean Creighton
