How long is the lease for? How many students are there currently? When are

After seeking clarification you provided the further following
information:

Yes I was referring to the Shard, All the information I am interested in
relates to the Shard.

Please find the requested information below, taking each of your questions
in turn:

1.       How much money has Warwick invested in its London campus?

The total amount spent by the University to transform an empty shell into
an academic venue fit for purpose, inclusive of VAT, was as follows:

·         Construction - £1.886m

·         IT and Av - £397k

·         Furniture - £257k

·         Professional fees - £210k

2.       How long is the lease for?

The University declines to disclose information regarding the lease
agreement as this information is exempt under section 21(1) of the Freedom
of Information Act 2000 which states that “information which is reasonably
accessible to the applicant otherwise than under section 1 is exempt
information”. This information is reasonably accessible by being
publically available through the Land Registry:
[2]http://www.landregistry.gov.uk/public

Section 21(1) of the FOIA exempts disclosure of information that is
reasonably accessible by other means, and the terms of the exemption mean
that we do not have to consider whether or not it would be in the public
interest for you to have the information.

3.       How many students are there currently?

As at 1^st May 2016, there are 84 students registered on courses taught
from the London base, plus < 5 students in Temporary Withdrawal.

Please note where we have stated the value as ‘< 5’ we decline to provide
the actual figure on the grounds that the numbers are very small and could
potentially lead to the identification of individuals, which may place the
University in breach of the Data Protection Act 1998. We are relying on
the exemption under section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000
in this regard.

4.       When are course offerings reviewed?

WBS reviews its portfolio of courses on an ongoing basis.

If you are unhappy with the way in which your request has been handled by
the University of Warwick, you can request an internal review and in the
first instance you are advised to follow the procedure outlined here:

Some of the information you've requested can be found in an article at the Warwick Globalist. We did most of the research on the cost of the project etc. last year - it cost over 11 million pounds over 10 years. http://warwickglobalist.com/wbs-the-shard/
