We have considered your request which was for information on agency
workers.  I now enclose the following information:

Under the Freedom Of Information act, please answer the following
questions ASAP. Please provide the information as you receive it.
1. How many Locum (Temporary) Social Workers do you have working in the
Local Authority?
   
On 30 April 2013 there were 64 agency social workers. Please note that we
can only provide numbers in relation to a specific day as the number of
agency placements can vary.

2. What teams are the Locum (Temporary) Social Workers working in? For
Example 1 x Temp Social Worker in the Child Protection Team . 2 x Temp
Social Workers in the Adults Assessment Team?
 On 30^th April 2013 there were 12 placements in the Adult Social Care
directorate, of which 9 were in locality teams and three in the review
team. There were 52 placements in the Children, Schools and Families
directorate, consisting of:
2 in transition teams,
8 within children in need teams,
36 in child protection teams,
5 in duty and assessment teams
1 with the looked after children team
3. What location (office) are the Teams and the Locum (Temporary) Social
Workers based?
The teams are based all across the county at Surrey County Council
offices; within the main hospitals; and in town halls.  Under the Act, we
are not required to provide information which is already reasonably
accessible to you. Details of the offices where those who work with Surrey
are based are set out on the Surrey County Council website
([1]www.surreycc.gov.uk). Select “Your Council” from the list of topics on
the left hand side of the home pages, then select “Council Offices” from
the list that appears.
   
4. What Team Manager do each of the Locum (Temporary) Social Workers
report to?
The agency social workers will report to the manager of the team with whom
they are working.  Under the Act, we are not required to provide
information which is already reasonably accessible to you. Contact details
are available from our website. ([2]www.surreycc.gov.uk). Select “Contact
us” from the toolbar near the top of the screen to find email and
telephone contact details, including  direct contact numbers for Adults
and Children’s social care..
 
5. What Agency are the Locum (Temporary) Social Workers placed by?
All agency staff are procured through Manpower, our managed service
provider.
     
6. Please provide Management Structure Chart for Children’s Social
Services including Team Managers Names and their positions held.
The attached document shows the structure of our Children, Schools and
Families directorate at 1^st June 2013. Our structure shows the teams and
positions within the teams but not the names of the position holders.  As
the information requested is personal information, it is exempt under
Section 40 (2) by virtue of Clause 40 (3) (a) (i) of the Freedom of
Information Act.  This information cannot be disclosed because its
disclosure  to a member of the public would contravene one or more of the
data protection principles. The data protection principles constitute an
8-point statutory code for the processing of personal data. They are set
out in Part I of Schedule 1 to the Data Protection Act 1998.  As a public
authority, Surrey County Council must observe all of the data protection
principles when processing personal data.  The exemption from the duty to
disclose personal data where to do so would breach a data protection
principle is an absolute exemption; the public interest test in section 2
of the FOI Act does not apply.

7. Please provide Management Structure Chart for Adult Social Services
including Team Managers Names and their positions held.
