locum rate for Ophthalmology
Dear Aneurin Bevan University Health Board,
Please release the following information under FOI act for Ophthalmology department during the period of 1st September 2021 to 31st August 2022 regarding locum on call cover
1) The total amount of payment made to locum agencies for cover of 1st on call doctor in Ophthalmology during above mentioned period. Please also provide an itemized breakdown (preferably in a spreadsheet) by hourly payment made to locum agency?
2) What is the maximum hourly rate offered for locum on call cover to the locum agency?
3) Detail of how many days needed locum on call doctor cover which was covered by agency staff?
4) What is the number of on calls that were covered by the internal hospital doctors?
5) What is the amount spent for locum on call cover by internal (non agency) doctors during the mentioned period?
6) What is maximum allowable hourly rate offered to registrar level non agency (non consultant) doctors in the health Board?
7) Please provide the name of the agencies used by the health board for Ophthalmology locum cover?

The response to questions 1 and 5 would mean that Ophthalmology department during the time period mentioned has never had any sickness or any shortage of doctor staff which requires any locum cover (whether internal working doctors or agency locums) in the timescale mentioned in original request.
Can you please again clarify if ABUHB has not had any form of sickness or any staff shortage in ophthalmology directorate during the period mentioned in the original request which required any locum doctor on call cover?
It's worth reminding that incorrect information is a offense reportable to ICO. Can I request an internal review on this request?
