Dear Manchester City Council,

Please may I request the following information:

1.How many elderly people need residential care homes/assisted living/supported living within the Local Authority?
What percentage of those living in elderly residential care homes/assisted living/supported living do you place within the Local Authority area?

2.How many adults with learning disabilities need residential care homes/assisted living/supported living within the Local Authority?
What percentage of those adults with learning disabilities living in residential care homes/ assisted living or supported living do you place within the Local Authority area?

What we mean by residential care home, assisted living, or supported living is the following:
Residential Care Home
Assisted Living - 24 hour supported living (small group living together with 24 hour
support)
Supported Living - Individuals living individually but in a block of apartments, where
there is support available within the block either 24 hours a day, or
during the day (but not overnight)

3. How many adults are homeless within the council?
What percentage of adults are homeless rehoused in supported housing until they are rehoused by the council?

We would require the most up to date statistics of homelessness in your area that fits your criteria for those to be temporarily rehoused for example:
having no accommodation at all
having accommodation that is not reasonable to live in, even in the short-term (eg because of violence or health reasons)

Yours faithfully,

Everton Wynter

Manchester City Council

Dear Everton

I do apologise for this late request for clarification and for your
response to have fallen late. The information asset owner has realised
their email hadn't come through to us for forwarding to you in time. In
ordder for us to complete your response with regard to the homelessness
questions, please see below.

Can I clarify the following for Q3 please.

3. How many adults are homeless within the council? Does this mean
statutorily homeless (passed all 5 tests within the Act) and to who the
Council owe a full duty or all Adults in Homeless accommodation. By adults
do they want us to count couples as 2 people or do they mean how many
homeless households. If its Adults it will be difficult because you could
have a homeless household with a number of adults and we would need to
manually count each one which would take way over 18 hours. This would also
need to be a snap shot on a set day
What percentage of adults are homeless rehoused in supported housing until
they are rehoused by the council?
As above does this mean statutorily homeless and owed a full duty or what
percentage of homeless adults have been placed in TA. You could be homeless
but not considered Statutorily Homeless. I doubt we could produce the
latter because if they receive a negative decision we may not be working
with them and therefore may not know if they are still homeless

We would require the most up to date statistics of homelessness in your
area that fits your criteria for those to be temporarily rehoused for
example:
having no accommodation at all
having accommodation that is not reasonable to live in, even in the
short-term (eg because of violence or health reasons)
Can these points be clarified as well.
