Dear Dudley Council,

As part of the Government Green paper (Support and Aspiration) the government has outlined a new approach to special educational needs and disability. As part of this initiative the government requires all local authorities in England to set out a Local Offer.

The purpose of the Local Offer is to enable parents and young people to see more clearly what services are available to them in their area and how to access them.

Please provide answers to the following questions

1. What is your local authority currently offering for online advice and guidance for Local Offer?

2. What is the name of the person who is leading on the Local Offer within your Local Authority? Please also provide their job title.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Harwood

Dear Mr Harwood

Freedom of Information Act 2000 - Information Request 8810

Your request for information received on 23/12/2013 has now been
considered and the information requested is detailed below.

1. What is your local authority currently offering for online advice and
guidance for Local Offer?

Currently Dudley is refocusing and organising the information already
available regarding SEN provision. SEN information is being brought
together with that already placed on Dudley's Family Information Service
website. The construction and shape of the website is the greater issue
rather than the gathering of information. Information about what the Local
Offer is, who the LA has consulted with and the outcomes of those
consultations so far, can be found on the Dudley Parent Partnership
website.
2. What is the name of the person who is leading on the Local Offer within
your Local Authority? Please also provide their job title.

Sharon Hearne - SEN Team Manager until June 2014 when arrangements will be
reviewed.

If you have any queries or concerns then please contact me.

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your
request and wish to make a comment or complaint, or request a review of
the decision, you should write to the Freedom of Information Officer at
Dudley MBC, The Council House, Dudley, West Midlands, DY1 1HF, telephone
01384 818181, e-mail [1][Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council request email].  This can
also be done online at: [2]http://www.dudley.gov.uk/customer-feedback

Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future
communications.

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you may apply
directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision.  Generally, the
ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints
procedure provided by Dudley MBC.

The Information Commissioner may be contacted at:
