Local offer

The request was successful.

Dear Hillingdon Borough Council,

As part of the Government Green paper (Support and Aspiration) the government has outlined a new approach to special educational needs and disability. As part of this initiative the government requires all local authorities in England to set out a Local Offer.

The purpose of the Local Offer is to enable parents and young people to see more clearly what services are available to them in their area and how to access them.

Please provide answers to the following questions

1. What is your local authority currently offering for online advice and guidance for Local Offer?

2. What is the name of the person who is leading on the Local Offer within your Local Authority? Please also provide their job title.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr Reynolds

I am writing in response to your request for information below.

As I understand it you are seeking to know:

1.    What is your local authority currently offering for online advice
and guidance for Local Offer?

Hillingdon has through a transformation programme reviewed its online
directory of services to ensure these are relevant, appropriate and up to
date.  These will be distinctively different to the Local Offer but will
cross reference and link into the development of the ‘Local Offer’.

The Digital strategy will encompass the development of a web based service
which reflects the views of parents and young people.

Hillingdon is actively engaging through a range of workshops with the
Parents, Voluntary Sector, Schools and Community Health to produce a
comprehensive ‘Local Offer’ for September 2014 which will build on the
learning from the Pathfinders.

2.    What is the name of the person who is leading on the Local Offer
within your  Local Authority? Please also provide their job title.

Jackie Wright - Head of SEN/Disability Service (All age)
