Lobbying for minimum pricing of alcohol paid for by the taxpayer.

Paul J Herring made this Freedom of Information request to Blackpool Primary Care Trust (PCT)

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Blackpool Primary Care Trust (PCT),

May I draw your attention to my FoI request visible at http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/lo... (reproduced below for convenience) and request that you provide any pertinent information requested therein, since you seem to be the party most suited to provide said information

=======
There appears to be a new website created to sponsor/lobby for a
minimum price for alcohol at http://www.minimumpricing.info/

On that site they encourage the visitor to "Sign up here to make
minimum pricing law" which is a direct link to
http://drinkwisenorthwest.org/

http://drinkwisenorthwest.org/ appears to be funded
(http://www.champspublichealth.com/writed...)
entirely by the Department for Health.

Could you tell me how much the creation, and maintenance, of
http://www.minimumpricing.info has will/cost the tax payer either
through direct funding from a government department (The Department
of Health would seem the most likely candidate here) or through an
intermediary (such as Drink Wise North West which, as stated,
appears to be totally funded by the DoH.)
=======
Having contacted Delineo, the private company that own and have
produce the website, I am informed by them that NHS Blackpool are
the body who commissioned the website.
=======

Yours faithfully,

Paul J Herring

Dear BlackpoolPCT Freedom of Information (BPCT),

Thank you very much for your reply, however I find it astonishing that it costs nothing to maintain the website, unless it's a totally static website that will never get updated.

Once again, thanks.

Yours sincerely,

Paul J Herring
