Thank you for your email. As you will appreciate, information requests
place additional demands on the School in terms of costs and staff time.
At present we are having to prioritise our finite resources in order to
meet the unprecedented challenges we are facing during the Coronavirus
(COVID-19) pandemic.  As such, we need to advise you that while we will
continue to process individual requests, you may experience some delay in
our response during the current pandemic.

Dear Shaunak,

With regards to your recent FoI enquiry, as you have only identified yourself by your first name please can you supply appropriate proof of your correct identity, such as a scan of your passport of driver's licence.

I am seeking this information as there is a possibility that we may exempt some of the information you have requested. In such cases, it is important that we are able to refer to your real name in order to allow you to request an internal review or ultimately complain to the ICO if you choose to do so, as both the LSE and the ICO do not accept first-name only requests in their tribunals. Please note: This information will not be retained once your identify has been confirmed.

Could I ask you to think about the underlying question that is prompting your data request. If you are attempting to find out what are your chances of getting a place, remember that this cannot be answered by reference to data. Applications are considered on their individual merits, based on a holistic view of your supporting documents in the context of the current cohort. Figures from previous years will not offer any insight on your application. Your best way to find the answer is to apply. However, please let me know if you wish us to proceed with obtaining the information requested.

Best Wishes,

Paul

Dear GLPD.Info.Rights,
I do not mind disclosing my full name. It is Shaunak Siddharth Samant. But I wouldn't be comfortable uploading my passport details on a public forum. If you could give an email address pertaining to LSE.

And as for the reason I requested the data is, while I understand that applications are holistically reviewed, I was interested in ascertaining the general level and nature of Indian applicants. I believe such data pertainining to other nationalities and boards of education has been disclosed before. Disclosing this data would allow us to judge the relative offer rate for Indian applicants

Yours sincerely,

Shaunak Samant

If this is not sufficient for your purposes, please let me know and I will continue to process your request upon confirmation of your identity.
