Dear Mr Hanlon

I am in receipt of your request made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding information on the recently submitted Liverpool Local Plan, as set out in your request below.

To advise and assist, it is solely the responsibility of a local planning authority to produce a Local Plan for its area in accordance with section 20 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended). The Planning Inspectorate will only become involved in the examination of a local plan when it is submitted to the Secretary of State for Examination.

Following submission, an independent Inspector is appointed to assess whether the Plan, as submitted, has been prepared in accordance with the relevant legal requirements, including the Duty to Cooperate and whether it meets the tests of soundness as set out in accordance with paragraph 35 of the National Planning Policy Framework. The conduct of the examination, including all the arrangements for the Examination and the timetabling of the hearing sessions, is solely for the appointed Inspector. The appointed Inspector for the examination of the plan is Jonathan Bore.

It is the responsibility of a local planning authority to ensure that all the information relating to any review of its Local Plan is publicly available and on its website: https://liverpool.gov.uk/council/strateg...

The above link also includes details of the Programme Officer for the Examination, who is independent and impartial and works under the direction of the Inspector. You may wish to contact the Programme Officer separately as they would publish all available information on the Plan as it becomes available. This would include representations and concerns from interested parties: http://www.hwa.uk.com/projects/liverpool...

If you are unhappy with the outcome of your request for information, or the way we handled your request, then you can ask for an internal review. Details of our review procedures and contact details for the Information Commissioner’s Office are set out in the attached leaflet.

Yours sincerely

Aggie Lewis-Jones
