Live Facial Recognition Capable Cameras
Dear Haringey Borough Council,
Have you installed or signed any contracts for Live Facial Recognition (LFR) Capable Cameras to be installed in the Borough of Haringey. If so where are these cameras located at and with which companies are the contracts signed with?
If yes please provide copies of these contracts in full including contracts with any subcontractors involved.
Yours faithfully,
Daryl Brown
Dear Mr Brown,
Thank you for your information request. It would seem from the questions
that you have asked that you are interested in doing business with
Haringey Council. Information about how we buy goods, services, works and
utilities can be found on our web site by following this link:
[1]http://www.haringey.gov.uk/index/business.
For all businesses interested in supplying to the Council, we now
advertise all contract opportunities over £5,000 (with the exception of
construction) through “CompeteFor”. Registration is free and bidders will
only have to input their data once, after which they will be able to apply
for any number of opportunities. Suppliers are strongly recommended to
register with this website as alerts are sent to businesses whose profiles
match with new opportunities as they arise. You can register by following
this link: [2]https://www.competefor.com/business/sign...
The Contracts Register, on the Council Contracts webpage, provides a list
of all existing Council contracts.
[3]http://www.haringey.gov.uk/business/grow...
The Contracts Register is a list of all current council contracts over
£10,000 and all framework agreements. The register is updated quarterly.
In addition, we always advertise new opportunities on our Council
Contracts webpage:
[4]http://www.haringey.gov.uk/index/busines...
However, we recommend suppliers sign up to CompeteFor to avoid the need to
check for updates.
For information about the recruitment and supply of permanent and
temporary workers please see our [5]Haringey Works page.
We have not dealt with your enquiry as a formal Freedom of Information Act
request at this stage. Having considered the information that is available
on our website you may want to consider submitting a specific request for
copies of information held by the council.
Yours sincerely,
Corporate Feedback Team

Dear Haringey Borough Council,
It seems that you have misread my Freedom of Information Request. I am not asking to do any business with Haringey council. My Freedom of Information Request is "Have you installed or signed any contracts for Live Facial Recognition (LFR) Capable Cameras to be installed in the Borough of Hackney."?
Other councils provided an answer of yes or no to this freedom of information request. The link to the councils website containing some contracts for public display is not accessible for someone to reasonably find the information they may be looking for as there is no references other than to a month among many thousands of listings categorised by months only. There is no search or category filter ability provided for users, the general public or Haringey residents and taxpayers to find their relevant information among the many thousands of downloads categorised only as "month".
I am sure that haringey councils internal database filter of information is vastly more accessible than what is purporting to be available to it's residents. I would greatly appreciate if you could answer the original Freedom of Information Request "Have you installed or signed any contracts for Live Facial Recognition (LFR) Capable Cameras to be installed in the Borough of Hackney."?
Yours faithfully,
Daryl Brown
