Dear Dale

I have been assigned your information request and I'm writing to ask for
further details.  'Unadopted' is a term our Highways Department use for
road status, so I just want to confirm your request is concerning land
rather than roads.

We would need a red edged plan of the area the roads included if
roads were the case.  We could then refer these to be searched.

If the request is regarding land, would you be referring to private land
in Cheetham Hill?

If you could provide more details It would really help clarify

Many thanks

Amanda

Dear [email address],

I wanted to know about alleyways in Cheetham Hill , pavements, are they unadopted or owned by Manchester City Council ? If you also do have a list of private land in Cheetham Hill as well, that would be much appreciated

Yours sincerely,

Dear Dale Lunham-Harrison

Re: Request for Information – List of unadopted land Cheetham
Hill – Reference Number: FOI/10477

Thank you for your request for information, which was received by
Manchester City Council on 16/08/2023 and has been considered under the
provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“the 2000 Act”).

You requested the following information:

Please, can you provide me with a detailed list of all un-adopted land
(apparently not owned by the council) that falls under Cheetham Hill.

I wanted to know about alleyways in Cheetham Hill , pavements, are they
un-adopted or owned by Manchester City Council ? If you also do have a
list of private land in Cheetham Hill as well, that would be much
appreciated

Please see below the Council's response:

In relation to Highways which would include Alleyways and Pavements the
Council do not hold a list of the information requested but they do
provide a service where customers can view the Register of Adopted streets
by appointment. However, this normally relates to specific areas/roads
rather than a whole ward.

If you wish to go ahead and view the register you can request an
appointment through:-
[email address]

In relation to Private land the Council would have to use data derived
from Land Registry to identify privately owned land,  this would
contravene our agreement with Land Registry. As you are able to access
Land Registry for yourself the following exemption applies:

Section 21: Information reasonably accessible by other means

This exemption applies because the information is available through an
alternative route. The Council does not have to provide the information to
you under the 2000 Act as you can obtain the information direct from Land
Registry on the following link:

https://www.gov.uk/search-property-infor...

Please note if you are not satisfied with this response you may ask for an
internal review. If you have received this response by email the best way
to submit a request for internal review is to respond directly to the
email, leaving the email's subject line unchanged. Alternatively, you can
contact the Council's Information Compliance Team
at [1][email address] or Democratic Services Legal Team, PO Box 532,
Town Hall, Manchester, M60 2LA. A copy of the Council’s information rights
complaints procedure can be downloaded
from: [2]http://www.manchester.gov.uk/downloads/d....
If you do not have internet access and require a paper copy, please let me
know.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review process,
you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision.

You should primarily contact the Information Commissioner on the following
