Dear Westminster City Council,

As a result of the Westminster Mental Health Day Services Consultation carried out in or around April 2016, the Council/CCG closed the day services previously provided at Lupus Street and St Marys Terrace.

However the Council stated in its Consultation Findings Document:

"The Council/CCGs are committed to providing safe spaces across several
locations in the borough. It is anticipated that some travel may be necessary to
reach all activities, as it the case at the present time for many service users

• Times of safe space/peer-led activities will be publicised and the provider will
explore with service users the best way of communicating and publicising
times and locations."

Could you please provide a list of the "safe spaces" together with their location details and hours of access.

Could you also please provide a copy or a link to the times of the safe space/peer led activities and details of these activities and details of how these are being publicised.

Yours faithfully,

Peter C. Bell

[5]https://www.theabbeycentre.org.uk.

Beethoven Safe Space was offered Monday 3:00 to 4:30pm until the end of
June. These were not promoted on the internet or more widely as they were
closed groups open only to former RSS day centre service users and our
clients in the SHP Westminster Mental Health Floating Support service. SHP
promoted the spaces as a social group to our clients.

SHP are looking to continue the Abbey Centre group  with co-facilitation
from Abbey Centre staff running the session as a social group. SHP will
then promote this group more widely as it would then become an open group.
The former RSS day centre service users wished for these groups to be
known as Safe Spaces.

All Safe Space sessions had been discussed and shared as part of
transition planning for RSS service users and stakeholders. This included
at workshops, 1-2-1 as part of the transition work carried out by SMART
and SHP and ongoing support to service users.

Please find attached some further information on more general services on
offer aside from safe space.
