Dawn

Thank you for your request for information received on 15 July 2024. You
requested:

“Dear Department for Education,

Please can you provide me with a list of PRU's in England and Wales. I
would like the head teachers and deputy head teachers names, email
addresses and telephone numbers (if possible).

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Dawn Prichard”

We have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act
2000.

A csv file containing data from the Get Information about Schools (GIAS)
website as at 06 August 2024 is enclosed. The file contains a standard
extract of all educational establishments in England. PRUs can be
identified in the field titled “Type of establishment”. GIAS does not hold
any information about deputy headteachers.

We are withholding the email address of the head teacher under section
40(2) (personal data), personal data is that which relates to a living
individual who can be identified from that data, or from that data and
other information which is likely to be in, or to come into, the
possession of the requestor. Disclosure of this information would
contravene a number of the data protection principles in the General Data
Protection Regulations/Data Protection Act 2018 and would be regarded as
‘unfair’. By that, we mean the likely expectations of the data subject
that his or her information would not be disclosed to others and the
effect which disclosure would have on the data subject. Section 40(2) is
an absolute exemption and is not subject to the public interest test.

We have supplied you with the school email address where available.

Further information on the terms used within this extract can be found in
the GIAS glossary:
