Dear HM Revenue and Customs,

I want to get the list of the officers of the board of the HMRC.

S.9A of the Tax Management Act 1970 states as follows:

9ANotice of enquiry
(1)[ An officer of the Board] may enquire into a return under section 8 or 8A of this Act if he gives notice of his intention to do so (“notice of enquiry”)—
(a)to the person whose return it is (“the taxpayer”),
(b)within the time allowed.

In light of the above section, I would like to know the names of the officers of the HMRC board.

Your website provides the names of the board members as follows, but it is not clear if these individuals are also the board officers as per s.9A of the TMA 1970.

Your website states as follows:

Board members
The board comprises of members of HMRC’s Executive Committee and Non-Executive Directors.

Chair: Dame Jayne-Anne Gadhia, Lead Non-Executive Director

Members:

Sir Jim Harra KCB - First Permanent Secretary and Chief Executive
Angela MacDonald - Deputy Chief Executive and Second Permanent Secretary
Justin Holliday - Chief Finance Officer and Tax Assurance Commissioner
Michael Hearty, Non-Executive Director
Patricia Gallan, Non-Executive Director
Paul Morton, Non-Executive Director
David Cooper, Non-Executive Director
Jen Tippin, Non-Executive Director
Susie Warran-Smith, Non-Executive Director

The board is assisted by 2 further non-executives who serve on the its committees:

Elizabeth Fullerton-Rome
Thomas Taylor

I would be grateful if you could kindly provide me with the list of the board's officers.

Yours faithfully,

Eliza Cohen

Dear Eliza Cohen

I am writing to update you on the status of your FOI request and to
apologise for our delay in issuing a response.

In dealing with all FOI requests HMRC works to the standard set by the
independent Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), which is to deal with
at least 90% of FOI requests within 20 working days of receipt. While we
meet this target most of time, there are some cases that take longer than
20 days to process (for example, because of their complexity). Your FOI
request is one such case.

I want to assure you that we are still working on your request and aim to
provide a reply shortly.

Kind regards
