List of I.T Suppliers & costs

The request was successful.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to request a complete list of suppliers/contractors
and consultants that have been used over the past year when
procuring I.t hardware and the total spend on i.t hardware during
the past year. Also could you break this hardware spend down to
show what brand servers, networking and desktop hardware were
purchased with a spend amount in each segment.

I would also like to request full details of the person(s) who
conduct the i.t purchasing there.

Yours faithfully,

James Connely

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION - FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (2000)

Thank you for your request for information which we received on 9th September 2009. We have considered your request and can provide the following information:

* I would like to request a complete list of suppliers/contractors and consultants that have been used over the past year when procuring I.T hardware and the total spend on I.T. hardware during the past year. Also could you break this hardware spend down to show what brand servers, networking and desktop hardware were purchased with a spend amount in each segment.

I would also like to request full details of the person(s) who conduct the I.T purchasing there.

Our IT hardware and software requirements are purchased from a national pan government framework agreement, ref: A217833, managed by Buying Solutions (www.buyingsolutions.gov.uk).

For large scale projects, e.g a recent server consolidation exercise, we will carry out a "mini-competition" process amongst the national framework suppliers.

Our spend for Apr08 to Mar 09 was as follows;

Dell - £547k
Siemens - £178k
Misco - £89k
Insight Direct - £47k
Hewlett Packard - £30k
Equanet - £24k
XMA - £2K

Tribal Consulting - £34k (consultancy for ECRS strategic option appraisal). This was awarded following a Trust tender process.

It is currently difficult to break the spend down any further than this, although changes are being made to our purchasing system to allow for more detailed categorisation in future.

The Trusts Head of Procurement is David Thomas who can be contacted on 0121 301 1200, email [email address].
