Dear Louise

Thank you for your email dated 7 August 2017, in which you request
information about doctors who have appealed an Erasure or Suspension
following a Fitness to Practise hearing. Your request has been considered
in accordance with the access provisions of the Freedom of Information Act
2000 (FOIA).

The information you have requested is reasonably accessible, and as such I
believe an exemption applies:

Section 21 of the FOIA applies where the information is already reasonably
accessible to the requester, even where a charge may be applicable.

Judgements for those doctors who have appealed to the high court can be
found for free on the following website: [1]http://www.bailii.org/

There is a tab called multi-database that you can use to search. If you
put General Medical Council, the date range and the name of the appeal
court then all of the appeals should come up in the results.

And our List of Registered Medical Practitioners, will confirm the
registration status of the doctors:

[2]http://www.gmc-uk.org/doctors/register/L...

I hope this helps.

Your right to appeal

You can appeal against this decision to Julian Graves, Information Access
Manager.  If you want to appeal, please set out your reasons and email
[3][email address]

You can also appeal to the Information Commissioner, the regulator of the
FOIA – we can provide more details about this if you need them.

Kind regards

Louise
