List of Current Trademarks in UK & EU

The request was partially successful.

Dear Intellectual Property Office,

Please could you provide me with a list of all currently registered trademarks in the UK Database.

A .csv file would be the preferable outcome which can be produced quickly and simply by the IPO computer system and would come well within the £600 limit as it would only take a few moments to produce. There is no need to remove or process any data as I can extract what I need from the results myself.
As the resulting file will be too large to email, a cd maybe sent via post or via an online system such as Google Drive or drop box etc..

To forestall a possible query, the primary reason I want the data is to carry out a statistical analysis of the English language words which are most commonly found in registered trademarks.
The intention is not to use the data in order to check whether any particular trademark is or is not registered, so your existing online search facility is not suitable for my needs.

Yours faithfully,
Peter Watson

Dear Mr Watson,

Thank you for your request for a list of currently registered UK trade
marks.  This information is exempt under section 21 of the Freedom of
information Act because there is a dataset of trade marks already
available to you at
[1]https://www.gov.uk/government/publicatio...
which should meet your requirements.  The data doesn't include the latest
information because the last release covers cases until early Sept 2016.
We intend to publish further updates at more regular intervals, but for
the present more recent information is exempt under s.22 of the Act, which
applies to information intended for future publication.

S.22 is a 'qualified' exemption, which means that it is subject to a
public interest test.  Having considered whether the public interest in
disclosing this information at this time overrides the public interest in
maintaining the exemption, the IPO takes the view that there is no
overriding public interest in diverting resources to accelerate the next
release of data.

The dataset is in a large tab separated text file which you should be able
to use by importing it into an analysis package and filtering for
registered marks.  We publish one dataset for UK domestic applications and
another for international registrations of marks protected within the UK
under the Madrid Protocol system.  For a list of EU marks you may wish to
contact the EU IPO to request access to what is their data.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request you have the
right to ask for an internal review.  Internal review requests should be
submitted within two months  and you may ask for a review by emailing
[2][Intellectual Property Office request email] .  If you are not content with the outcome of the
internal review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information
Commissioner for a decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted
at:  Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane,
Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.

Please let me know if you require any further information or explanation.

Regards,
