Dear Ken Montgomery,

Thank you for your request for information (FOI 2017-0004450) which was
received on 25/01/2017.

You requested:

Dear Department for Education,

Please can you provide me with an up to date list (in EXCEL format and
not, PDF as previously provided) of all Multi Academy Trusts including how
many academies are in each trust.

Please can you include contact details (email, telephone number) including
the Accounting Officer for each MAT including the head office postal
address if possible.

Yours faithfully,

Ken Montgomery

I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

A copy of the information is attached in the format you requested.

Given the short timescale since your last request for the same information
it is unlikely there have been a significant number of changes, and as
such we have provided the data you asked for originally, in the format
requested (an excel spreadsheet)

With regards to the list of all MATs and Schools they are attached to, The
information you requested is publically available as part of the full all
data Edubase extract, available at
[1]http://www.education.gov.uk/edubase/home...

From here I would suggest building a pivot table using Type of
Establishment, Establishment Status, Trust School Flag, Count of
URN(Unique Reference Number), Trusts, and Establishment Name in the below
format:

Pivot:

Report: Type of Establishment, Establishment Status, Trust School Flag

Row:

Column: Trusts, Establishment Name

Values – Count of URN

Using the above you can then filter the data set to include only open
schools, MATs or SATs or select any MAT or school you desire.

It may also be possible to use the Vlookup function to cross reference
Edubase with the attached data set.

exception in current copyright law. Documents (except photographs) can be
also used in the UK without requiring permission for the purposes of news
reporting. Any other re-use, for example commercial publication, would
require the permission of the copyright holder.

Most documents produced by a government department or agency will be
protected by Crown Copyright. Most Crown copyright information can be

If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you should
make a complaint to the Department by writing to me within two calendar
months of the date of this letter.  Your complaint will be considered by
an independent review panel, who were not involved in the original
consideration of your request.

Dear ACCOUNT, Unmonitored,

Many thanks for looking at this file so quickly however there seems to be a number of schools missing from the attached file when cross referencing it against the original PDF file. The excel file stops at line 1991 with entry: 7682311, ST MARY'S CHURCH OF ENGLAND ACADEMY TRUST.

All data following this is missing.

If you could resend that would be most welcome.

Yours sincerely,

Ken Montgomery

This has also been logged as a new FOI (2017-0010080)

As before, we have looked over the document to ensure it is error free and
have attached it for you here. We looked at the previous version we sent
to you and found it contained the full list of records, down to Zest
Academy at the bottom of the list.

With this in mind we have saved the document as a 1997-2003 format as it
is possible there are compatibility issues between the version of excel we
are using and the version you have.

Our apologies for any previous issues you had with the data and we hope
this resolves those.
