Dear University of Aberdeen,

I am writing to formally request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Specifically, I would like to request the following details:

What Israeli universities does the university have links with?
- This includes, but is not limited to, exchange programmes, joint research projects and information exchanges

What is the nature of these links with Israeli universities and what agreements underpin these?

If it is not possible to provide the information requested due to the information exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12, please provide advice and assistance, under the Section 16 obligations of the Act, as to how I can refine my request. If you need any clarification on any part of my request, then please contact me using this email address.

Under your section 16 duty to provide advice and assistance I would expect you to contact me if you find this request unmanageable in any way before the twentieth working day. If for any reason you are not able to fulfil all parts of my request, please respond to those that you can respond to, setting out your reasons for not responding to the entire request.

Should you require any clarification or further details regarding this request, please do not hesitate to contact me via email. I am more than willing to discuss and refine the request as needed.

I refer to your Freedom of Information request which has now been considered and the resposne is below:

The University has no links with Israeli Universities.

Should you be dissatisfied with this response, you have the right under the Act to request a review. A request for review must be made within 40 working days of the date of this reply. It must include your name and address for correspondence and specify the request for information and the grounds for dissatisfaction with the decision. Please send your request for review to our mailbox, [University of Aberdeen request email]. The University will respond to your request for a review within 20 working days of receipt of your request.

If you are unhappy with the outcome of the University’s internal review, you have the right to appeal to the Scottish Information Commissioner within six months of the date of receipt of the University’s review notice. Details on how to make an appeal to the Commissioner are available at Appeal to the Commissioner | Scottish Information Commissioner (foi.scot) Should you remain dissatisfied with the Commissioner’s decision, you have a right of appeal to the Court of Session on a point of law.
