Dear Department of Health,

I wondered if Department of Health was aware of any studies having been undertaken into possible links between Bullying and Stress? If so, could I please have a copy?

Yours faithfully,

AIDAN QUINN

Dear Department of Health,

Just popping a copy of any existing studies, papers, or reports in the post would be absolutely fine.
There is absolutely no need to do any additional work or spend any additional time.

Yours faithfully,

AIDAN QUINN

Dear Department of Health,
Hi, I wonder if I could please possibly extend the original Query to enquire regarding possible evidence of links between Noting and Filing and Stress? Is there, for example evidence of even one person who, while subject to a life time Note and File Only Order, did not fall ill? If such evidence exists, do please share, that is what FOI is about.

Again there is absolutely no need to do any extra work, just popping a copy of any evidence that does exist in the post is all that FOI legislation requires. It shouldn’t take a moment.

Good Luck.

Yours faithfully,

AIDAN QUINN

Dear Mr Quinn,

Thank you for your correspondence of 31 December requesting information on
studies about the links between bullying and stress.  I have been asked to
reply.

I am afraid that the Department does not hold the information you have
requested. However, you may find it useful to contact bullying charities
for research related to bullying and stress.  Many charities also list
information about the impact of bullying on people’s mental health on
their websites.

The Anti-Bullying Alliance, for example, can be contacted at
[1][email address].  BulliesOut, which provides training on the effect of
bullying to schools, parents and professionals, can be contacted at
[2][email address].

Finally, you may also wish to consider searching through academic
journals.

I am sorry I cannot be more directly helpful.

Yours sincerely,

Jemimah Norman

Dear Department of Health,
Many thanks for getting back to me.
This seems to be an under researched subject and as usual it always seems to be NHS that has historically picked up the bill for the failings of others.
Hopefully cases in N Ireland will shed a lot of light on the topic, maybe get the incidences of bullying stopped as bullies are called to account, realise and face up to the consequences, pick up their own bills.
Everyone will benefit. Thanks again.

Yours faithfully,

AIDAN QUINN

Dear Department of Health and Social Care,
Hi, it's been a while.
We all, totally non -judgementally, hear what you are saying about records no being held. No one is in any way surprised and no one in any way judges. Claims of holding no records is indeed a common, standard response and one frequently made at Enquiries everywhere. Followers of, eg, RHI in Belfast will know this.
It is of course the Professional Duty of Investors and Due Diligence Operatives to be cynical. Like Barristers, they hear a lot of things and being professionally cynical is what they do for a living after all, on a daily basis.
In this case It does seem obvious that Organisations committed to Noting and Filing Only-nothing else by their own proud admission- are bound to have created a lot of Notes and a lot of Files over the years.
In the case of NICS, it has long committed itself to securely holding such Notes and Files until such times as Communication Bans are revoked and the content of all these Notes and Files is finally able to be discussed.
People have relied upon these commitments, they have trusted NICS – that’s the thing – and there is, of course no suggestion, none at all, that NICS would break a trust or a commitment.
Rest assured, then, all those totally unconsidered Notes and Files have to be in secure forensic storage somewhere. The reputation of NICS as an Organisation depends on it
We don’t want more delays, so could I respectfully ask you please to take another look, if you wouldn’t mind? We all, working together, have a responsibility to demonstrate that NICS is efficient, does not lose forensically stored papers, and can in any and all circumstances be trusted to do the right thing.
Good Luck. I wish you well. Indeed I do. Trust and reputation matter hugely to Investors and to us all.

Yours faithfully,

AIDAN QUINN
