Licence fee for broadband consumers?

The request was successful.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I currently enjoy the freedom to NOT purchase or fund your "product" as I do not watch or record any live broadcasts over any medium. I would very much like to maintain at least this amount of freedom (even if I can't enjoy the freedom to access free-to-air channels without paying your organisation for this privilege).

With this in mind, could you please inform me of any and all plans the BBC may have to lobby parliament, (or any other plans), to introduce compulsory licensing of UK broadband connections to be paid to BBC, Capita, TV Licensing, HM Government or to any other of your associates or any plans you may have to include broadband consumers in your remit for collection of TV licence fees.

Could you also please inform me of any plans you have to introduce a payment scheme for the pleasure of watching the BBC iPlayer over the internet (a plan which I would consider to be most reasonable for legitimate non-licence payers only).

I hope you will answer these queries in the spirit of the Freedom of Information Act.

Yours faithfully,

A very concerned broadband consumer & TV abstainer.
