Library fines

Jack Forks made this Freedom of Information request to University of Bath

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

I am conducting a research product in order to ascertain the total number of Library fines that were paid at universities in the UK.

I am therefore writing to ask about library fines during the academic year 2016/2017, under the Freedom of Information Act. For the time period starting from the first day of term, covering the next 364 days (e.g. one full year), please provide:

1. The total amount of money the library received from the payment of overdue items. Exclude costs of replacing lost books if possible – this request solely relates to the cost of items that are returned later than their due date.

Many thanks, and do let me know if you require any further clarification

Yours faithfully,

Jack Forks

Mr Forks, there appears to me to be a conflict in your dates. You ask about academic year 2016/17, but then the next sentence changes the dates to from the start of term, which will have been in late September to early October 2016, and with your 364 days references takes the period into academic year 2017/18. Can you clarify please so we can proceed with this request?
Thanks, John
