Dear University of East Anglia,
I am writing to ask about library fines during the academic year 2015/2016. For the time period starting from the first day of term, covering the next 364 days (e.g. one full year), please provide:

1. The total amount of money the library received from the payment of overdue items. Exclude costs of replacing lost books - this request solely relates to the cost of books that are returned later than their due date.

2. Information about where this money then goes (is it absorbed into a specific library budget for example? if so what one?)

3. If possible, from the figure provided in 1, break this down by

a) category of user paying fine (e.g. undergraduate, postgraduate, staff)
b) country of origin of user paying fine (e.g. France, Italy, US). If only broader categories are possible e.g. "EU", "non-EU" then please provide this instead.

Many thanks, and do let me know if you require any further clarification.

Yours faithfully,

Jack Forks

Freedom of Information, University of East Anglia

Dear Jack Forks,

We have been in contact with the relevant departments within the
University to collate the information for your Freedom of Information
request (UEA ref: FOI_17-044)] and we require clarification of several
elements of your request; namely: when you refer to books we only have
information on items, rather than books.  We usually provide data for an
academic year rather than calendar year. Could you confirm that these are
acceptable to you?

As we only have a limit time period to respond to your request, a prompt
response would be greatly appreciated.

Please quote our reference given at the top of this email in all
correspondence.

Kind regards,

Dave Palmer

Dear Jack

Apologies I have a further question for you, do you require domicile or nationality?

Regards

Janet

If you have it by domicile then please provide that, if you do not, then do not worry and just provide the information to the other questions instead. Thanks.

Good afternoon,

I just wanted to enquire if you had an update on the status of my request?

Many thanks,

Jack.
