Dear Culture and Sport Glasgow,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Culture and Sport Glasgow's handling of my FOI request 'Library catalogue'.

I fully appreciate that providing library catalogue data which is not currently digitised would be impractical, therefore I would like to narrow the scope of my request to only the parts of the library catalogue which you hold in a digital format.

As you kindly pointed out in your last email, this data is publicly available to browse on the Glasgow Libraries catalogue website, but as far as I can see there is no facility on this website to download the data in bulk which makes it impossible to analyse or use for educational or data science purposes.

If it is impractical to export and make available the digital portions of the library catalogue, please can you provide an overview of the work involved and the hours of work required for each step, as I am unsure why this would cost more than £600 (or 40 hours of staff time, per your guidance.)

Please can you follow the example of other forward-thinking cultural institutions worldwide by doing one of the following:

a) publish the library catalogue data you hold to your Open Data Glasgow portal, so the public can benefit from this catalogue information being in the public domain in an accessible, analysable format: http://data.glasgow.gov.uk/
b) making a public API available so that researchers and developers like myself are able to query and download this data in bulk digitally

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/l...

Yours faithfully,
