Freedom Of Information Requests Mailbox, Newcastle upon Tyne City Council

Dear Ms Stoneman

Can you clarify question 4 please - do you how many households received housing benefit in social housing only i.e. in accommodation by Registered Social Landlords and Your Homes Newcastle or do you want all other housing benefit included that is not local housing allowance? We need this information back from you before we can deal with your request.

I did go to reply to Newcastle City Councils request for clarification but appear to be unable to do that via this site and apparently only by email.

However, no valid FOI Team email given. I have now emailed the What do they Know Team as what to do next.

I may just have to put a fresh request in.

Dear Freedom Of Information Requests Mailbox,

Re Question 4. It is for the Social Housing costs/numbers that can only directly relate to properties/accommodation legally affected by what is known as the "Bedroom Tax"

This would not include anything to do with LHA or B&B's, homeless units etc. However, I have updated the questions (If that is ok?) and here they are:

1. How much was spent on Housing Benefit payments for social housing
tenancies in financial years:

2010/2011
2011/2012
2012/2013

This should only relate to properties that are or could be affected
directly by what is known as the Bedroom Tax. Please do not include
figures for the homeless or B&B's in your reply etc.

2. How many households was the Housing Benefit amount in Q1 for? Please
quote for each year.

3. How much was spent on Local Housing Allowance payments for private
tenancies in financial years:

2010/2011
2011/2012
2012/2013

4. How many households was the Local Housing Allowance amount in Q3 for?
Please quote for each year.

Yours sincerely,

Pamela Stoneman

Dear Ms Stoneman

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request that we received on 27
September 2013; your request and our response are as follows.

1.    How much was spent on Housing Benefit payments for social housing
tenancies in financial years:

o 2010/2011

This should only relate to properties that are or could be affected
directly by what is known as the Bedroom Tax. Please do not include

We are unable to split benefit cases numbers for social housing tenancies
