During the last five years how many times has the Local Government Ombudsman (as a result of investigating a complaint against Oxfordshire County Council) brought to the attention of the council the fact that a member of Oxfordshire County Council staff had misled them, lied to them or done anything else to hinder their investigation. Thank you for your request of 12 January 2009 in which you asked for the
following information:

During the last five years how many times has the Local Government

Ombudsman (as a result of investigating a complaint against

Oxfordshire County Council) brought to the attention of the council

the fact that a member of Oxfordshire County Council staff had

misled them, lied to them or done anything else to hinder their

investigation. If they have what disciplinary action was taken

against the individual(s) concerned by the council.

Your request is being considered and you will receive the information
requested as soon as possible and in any event within the next 20 working
days in compliance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000, unless an
exemption applies. This means that the council will respond to you by 9
February 2009 at the latest.

There may be a fee payable for this information. You will be informed if
this is the case and you can decide if you wish to proceed with your
request.

If appropriate, the information requested can be made available in
alternative formats, including other languages, Braille, large print, and
audiocassette. If you require any of these formats then please let me
know.

There have been no instances of the Local Government Ombudsman bringing to
the attention of Oxfordshire County Council in the last five years the
fact that a member of staff had misled them, lied to them or done anything
else to hinder their investigation.
