Good Afternoon  Mr Davidson

I refer to your Freedom of Information request and trust that the
undernoted and attached is helpful to you.

(1) Please could you indicate the number of homophobic incidents targeted
at pupils, reported in each of your schools (listed individually by name
and number) that were reported in the 2016 - 2017 academic year?

We have had 5 schools where there have been  homophobic incidents targeted
at pupils in 2016/17 academic year.  Please note that all figures are more
than 0 and less than 5.  Given the low numbers involved, providing you
with the exact figure may identify individuals so this information is
being withheld from you in terms of Section 38(1)(b) of the Freedom of
Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

(2) Please could you indicate the number of homophobic incidents targeted
at staff, reported in each of your schools (listed individually by name
and number) that were reported in the 2016 - 2017 academic year?

There have been no homophobic incidents targeted at staff.

(3) Please indicate which of your schools have received staff training on
dealing with LGBT issues and from whom (e.g. from a specific external
organisation or the council).

Training which some schools have received on dealing with LGBT issues are
from:

·         Respect Me

·         LGBT Scotland

·         Scottish Trans Alliance

·         The Church

·         Conforti Centre

(4) Please list which schools have either achieved Bronze, Silver or Gold,
or are registered with LGBT Youth Scotland's School Charter Mark.

Please see attached spreadsheet

No school in the authority have achieved Bronze, Silver or Gold or are
registered with LGBT Youth Scotland’s School Charter Mark.

(5) For clarity and to put the above into perspective, please indicate the
total number of schools in your council.

There are a total of 28 schools in Inverclyde Council area.

Please find attached a copy of our review procedures, should you require
them.

Best wishes

Rhona
