L+G Portfolio

The request was successful.

Dear Homes and Communities Agency,

Places for People (PfP) has raised £252m by selling a 50-year lease on 4,000 affordable properties to Legal and General. The leaseback ‘income strip’ deal sees L&G purchase the lease on the properties, which are in turn let back to PfP Homes. Under the leaseback deal, PfP retains management and resident facing responsibilities, including the rental risk,

Could you provide the following information...

1) The decisions and reasoning made by yourselves with regards to PfP' in retaining its status as a Registered Social Landlord for these properties. (No longer being the Superior Landlord)

2) Which properties in Preston, Lancashire are to be affected by this deal.. or alternatively if this proves to be too lengthy/costly then....

a) Are the properties at Hunniball Court, Preston, Lancashire to be a part of this deal.?. and...

b) What safeguards have been enacted to ensure the "security of tenure" for the elderly and disabled residents, should L+G collapse?

Yours faithfully,

Ellie Stopford
