Dear Ms Davis

I am writing in response to your request for information which was
received by the London Fire Brigade Information Access Team on 25 July
2013. Your request was considered under the provisions of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 (FOIA) and I can now confirm that we do not hold
‘cost’ information as requested. The cost information we do hold is
inclusive of staff costs and by financial year.

You asked:

“A) The number of dual purpose ladder appliances, aerial ladder
appliance, turntable ladder, fire rescue unit appliance, command support
unit appliance, bulk foam unit, hose layer unit and scientific support unit
appliances that are attached to each fire station that is opened on a 24/7
basis”

All LFB fire stations operate 24/7. I have attached our most current
fleet list in response.

You asked:

“(B) The cost of repairs to London Fire Brigade vehicles (Excluding
staffing costs)in the calender years of 2010,2011,2012 and to date in
2013”

The repair of the London Fire Brigade (LFB) Vehicles was provide under an
outsourced PFI arrangement until November 2011 through AssetCo and Premier
FireServe.  Subsequent to this the service is being provided on an interim
basis by Babcock International.  Due to the nature of the contract LFB
were not charged the cost of repair for the vehicles alone.  LFB were
charged an all inclusive slot price for each vehicle which included the
maintenance, services, overheads and profit related to the contract.  As
such we cannot give you direct costs for this period in relation to the
cost of repairs.  Also the costs of repair would have been split by labour
and parts so the cost would have been inclusive of staff costs.

The original financial model estimated that on average the percentage of
the slot price attributable directly to maintenance (assuming you remove
the enhanced services in relation to reserves) was approximately 30%.
This estimate is still valid. Please refer to the below information on
costs:

Fiscal year                         £

2010-11              18,396,230

2011-12              19,308,653

2012-13              18,937,343

2013-14              18,880,832 Estimated

I trust this concludes your request. However, if you have any further
queries, please contact me.

You have the right to ask the Authority to review this response. If you
wish to do so, please set out in writing your reasons for asking and
address them to David Wyatt – Head of Information Management and
Performance at [1][email address] .

You also have the right to ask the Information Commissioner for a decision
as to whether the Authority has dealt with your request in accordance with
the requirements of the FOIA. If you wish to do this, you must first ask
the Authority to review its decision; and then you must apply promptly to
the Information Commissioner at: The Information Commissioner's Office,
Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

Thank you for your interest in the LFB.

Kind regards
