Hello
Further to your FOI request, please see below.
We regret that the Council holds no data or documentation that matches the specific information you are seeking regarding compensation linked to the planned developments at Timperley Wedge and New Carrington.
However we can provide other related information which may be of assistance to you.
Carrington and Davenport Green (Timperley Wedge) are both development allocations within the Places for Everyone joint strategic Local Plan. Before a Local plan can be adopted by a Local Authority it has to go through a process of formal examination by an Independent Inspector(s) who will scrutinise the robustness of the plan including the suitability of any allocations. This process allows for any objections and concerns to be aired – and enables the Inspector to form a judgement as to whether any proposal in the plan should proceed. Accordingly this process gives added rigour to the plan – and in the case of Places for Everyone not every proposed development allocation was recommended to proceed by the Inspector’s panel.
Part of this process of scrutiny is to consider environmental factors such as flood risk. The Plan was supported by a comprehensive Strategic Flood Risk assessment - https://www.greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk/...
In addition topic papers for each development area are prepared to support and justify the allocation and these also reference flood risk and mitigation – these papers can be found here:
New Carrington Topic Papers - https://www.greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk/...
Timperley Wedge Topic Papers - https://www.greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk/...
Furthermore the issue of flood risk will also arise within any planning application which will be submitted, prior to any new development being built.
More broadly the Council publishes a range of information / advice on flood issues which may be of further interest:
