Legal position regarding an NRP with no income

The request was partially successful.

Paul Worthington

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

I would like to know what the legislation is regarding an NRP who has no income when asked to supply details of income when being assessed on CSA1 .

I would also like to know what options the case worker in such a situation should offer the NRP.

Finally I would like to know if all telephone conversations are recorded when dealing with the CSA regardless of which scheme.

Yours faithfully,

Paul Worthington

The DWP hold a "CSA Online Proceedures" CD. They will post you a copy if you request it... I've had two (updated) copies sent to myself.

In all fairness, the DWP FOI Team sent it reasonably quickly (but they'll need your address because its about 600MB of files).

It is a reasonably useful disc - and when you send your FOI request for it, it's worthwhile informing them that you record all telephone calls... My mobile has an app which records every call (in or out) automatically. a 10 minute call takes up less than a MB. (In Google Play Store its called "Call Recorder" - and works on every android ive used - [can be tricky to set up]).

When I was off work a year ago n on I.S. it was amazing to hear the bull...t coming from the CSA teams. Apparently I.S. wasn't a prescribed benefit ETC.
