Under the Freedom of Information Act could you set out:

1. The total cost in pounds Stirling incurred by Central Scotland Police (CSP) for legal services, including advise, opinions and meetings for which a charge was made against the force (CSP) for the financial years:

2009 /10
2010 /11
2011 /12

2. Which legal firms were engaged in those years.

3. The basis on which they were selected to provide the advice in those years.

4. Please supply any guildlines and or policy in CSP regarding the procurement of legal services.

5. If legal services have been obtained from any local authority or other body with legal services, which body was engaged and how much were CSP cross charged (charged) for the legal services provided by them in those years.

Part 1, Section 17, 1 (b) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act
2002 requires Central Scotland Police to advise you that we do not hold
the information you have requested. When selecting, consideration would be
given to companies with experience in a specialised area as well as advice
from other partner agencies, best value, expertise etc.     

Q4. Please supply any guidelines and or policy in CSP regarding
the procurement of legal services. 

Response:

No specific guidelines related to procurement of legal services exist. We
follow the Police Joint Board Standing Orders relating to Contracts ,
which the extract in relation to this is attached. 

Q5. If legal services have been obtained from any local authority or other
body with legal services, which body was engaged and how much were CSP
cross charged (charged) for the legal services provided by them in those
years.

noted these figures also include outlays as well as fees)

I am writing to request an internal review of the handling of my FOI request 'Legal costs incurred by Central Scotland Police'.

In a previous reply the total figure was broken down under the amounts claimed by each firm.

I believe I had requested this for the year 2012/13.

I am therefore seeking this information as before and in the absence of this information i am dissatisfied with the reply and request the review.
