Legal capacity to gamble - whether any requirements to safeguard vulnerable gamblers
Dear Gambling Commission,
Having come across many people over the years with gambling addiction, there is a pattern with some of an underlying learning disability, developmental condition and / or mental health problems. In many cases it seems doubtful that these type of gamblers understand the full implications what they are doing when, for example, using fixed odds betting terminals.
Are there any regulatory and / or legal requirements that book-makers must comply with when dealing with vulnerable customers?
And is there any activity on this issue by the Gambling Commission?
Thanks for your help.
Yours faithfully,
Kester Dean
