Learning Management System and e-learning information

I am writing to make an open government request for all the information to which I am entitled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

In order to assist you with this request, I am outlining my query as specifically as possible.
Please can you provide information on the following:

1. Does your local authority use a Learning Management System and e-learning provision for employee training?
2. If not, are there ongoing plans to purchase a Learning Management System and e-learning provision for employee training in the near future?
3. What is the name of the Learning Management System (product name) and which company is it purchased from?
4. Provide brief information of the current e-learning courses that are used in employee training.
5. Provide the development themes of the eLearning courses that are used in employee training (i.e. Compliance, Safeguarding, etc.)
6. Value of the current contract, date of commencement and date of expiry.
7. Who is responsible for ensuring the LMS and e-learning provision meets the local authorities training requirements?
If this request is too wide or unclear, I would be grateful if you could contact me as I understand that under the Act, you are required to advise and assist requesters. If any of this information is already in the public domain, please can you direct me to it, with page references and URLs if necessary.

Thank you for your information request, reference number 8260_1718.  I
wish to confirm that North East Lincolnshire Council holds the following
information.

 

1. Does your local authority use a Learning Management System and
e-learning provision for employee training?

 

North East Lincolnshire Council’s staff have access to two Learning
Management Systems. For corporate (non-safeguarding) training they access
an LMS provided by Learning Pool ([1]https://www.learningpool.com). For
safeguarding training they access an LMS provided by Virtual College
([2]http://www.virtual-college.co.uk).

 

2. If not, are there ongoing plans to purchase a Learning Management
System and e-learning provision for employee training in the near future?

which company is it purchased from?

4. Provide brief information of the current e-learning courses that are
used in employee training.

 

NELC have a subscription to Virtual College’s safeguarding course
catalogue. This catalogue is available to view here:

Staff can access all the courses in this catalogue.

 

NELC have a subscription to the core skills and local government course
catalogues provided by Learning Pool. These are available to view here:
[4]https://www.learningpool.com/products/e-.... Staff can
only access courses that have been downloaded and published on our LMS,
themes for these courses are below. Bespoke induction courses introducing
new employee’s to the Council and the local area have also been created
using Learning Pool’s Adapt software.

 

5. Provide the development themes of the eLearning courses that are used
in employee training (i.e. Compliance, Safeguarding, etc.)

 

Virtual College’s courses cover child and adult safeguarding. The LMS with
Learning Pool is split into six categories: Inductions, Health & Safety,
Health & Wellbeing, Leadership & Management, Business & IT Skills, and
Personal Development.

 

6. Value of the current contract, date of commencement and date of expiry.

 

NELC’s current contract with Learning Pool commenced on 14^th May 2016 and
will expire on 14^th May 2018. The total cost of the contract with
Learning Pool is £21,850. NELC’s current contract with Virtual College
commenced on 23^rd March 2016 and will expire on 23^rd March 2019. The
total cost of the contract with Virtual College is £9,150.

 

7. Who is responsible for ensuring the LMS and e-learning provision meets
the local authorities training requirements?

 

Debbie Haines is Head of Organisational Development and is ultimately
responsible for ensuring the LMS are fit for purpose.
