Dear Northumbria Police,
RE: Leaks to the News of the World by Northumbria Police officers of sensitive and confidential information concerning the investigation in to the (UNSOLVED) attempted murder of Martin McGartland.
Martin McGartland has made complaint/s against Chris Sharman on 17th July 2011 concerning above matter. Chief Superintendent Chris Thomson, head professional standards department and Chief Constable Sue Sim were also named/subject to those complaints.
Under the FOIA and also all other rights of access I am requesting all information you hold concerning this matter, including;
1. Given that Chief Superintendent Chris Thomson is the SIO of the Martin McGartland attempted murder case and Chris Sharman is the deputy in the case, can you confirm if either of them has been or will be permanently taken off the Martin McGartland attempted murder investigation. If not, please explain why not.
2. Have Northumbria Police referred this very serious matter, the complaint/s, to the IPCC. If so when. If not, explain why not.
3. Given Chief Superintendent Chris Thomson is both SIO of the Martin McGartland (UNSOLVED) attempted murder case, that he is also head of Northumbria Police's Professional Standards Department (the complaints dept), can you confirm that Chief Superintendent Chris Thomson will not be investigating himself (nor his Deputy Chris Sharman), as he has done with previous complaints made against him, his officers by Martin McGartland.
4. Please confirm if Northumbria Police have referred the complaint/s, as above, against Chief Constable Sue Sim to the Northumbria Police Authority, if so, when. If not, explain why not.
5. Given this matter took place more than 1 year ago; http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ma... (this link to a FOI request shows that Chief Superintendent Chris Thomson, head professional and Chief Constable Sue Sim have covered up that too). Why have Northumbria Police not taken this matter seriously enough. I understand that Martin McGartland has been complaining for the past year to Chris Thomson and even Northumbria Police's own force Solicitor. However, they did nothing. Martin McGartland has had to make the complaint/s within past few weeks against those named above. why have Northumbria Police not taken this matter seriously enough.
6. Will Northumbria Police now be referring this very serious matter to an outside force so that it can be throughly investigated. If so, when will they be doing so. If not, why not.
7. How are complaints against the head of your professional standards department dealt with. Please supply all information relating to same.

Marty McGartland is single-handedly responsible for stopping at least 45 IRA bomb and assassination plots: http://politics.caledonianmercury.com/20... he saved the lives of at least fifty people and he put his own life in danger while doing so. As a result, the IRA kidnapped Martin 8th August 1991, Marty escaped certain death by jumping from a third floor window. Marty was also shot at least 6 times by the IRA in June 1999, the IRA only found Marty's safe house after MI5, Northumbria Police and the CPS took a flawed and malicious prosecution against him, he was acquitted. However, during the court case Northumbria Police read out Martin's real name and even his home address. This is a total disgrace, it is also wrong, it is a State cover-up. Marty McGartland is in very poor health as a result, the State cover-up has and continues to exacerbate this. The protecting of IRA terrorists and the covering-up of both Marty’s kidnapping and his 1999 attempted murder by the above parties has now gone on for between 12 and 20 years. The above parties are hell bent on protecting IRA terrorists who were involved with both attacks. The above parties are also using every trick in the book, and many more, to cover up their own wrongdoing.
