Lead Pellet Ban in NI wetland compliance budget

Department of the Environment (Northern Ireland) did not have the information requested.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Could you please provide me with the total amount of money allocated for this and the next financial year to ensuring that our out of control shooters and shooting organizations comply with the recent ban in the use of lead shotgun pellets in wetland areas?

Could you also provide the total amount of money allocated to monitoring the success of this new law for this and the next financial year?

Lead shotgun pellets are an imminent threat to our rare avian wildlife in Northern Ireland and force the birds to die a slow agonizing and needless death. The Department of the Environment must play a full role in stopping these slaughterers firing lead pellets, only for them to be mistakenly consumed by our wildlife.
