- The amount spent by the Local Education Authority on IT maintenance in schools, in each year over the past five years

In responding we are making the assumption that the request relates to hardware maintenance since the Request was unspecific as to what was required and software, licensing and support were not mentioned.

Brighton & Hove City Council does not hold any hardware maintenance contracts on behalf of schools or make any spend on hardware maintenance for them. The Council does not advise its schools to take out hardware maintenance contracts other than as part of initial purchase for servers etc where a minimum of three year on site warranties are advised. The same principle applies when the Council purchases equipment used to host services for schools. Therefore we are unable to supply an amount spent.

The Council does not have detailed management information relating to the nature of spend made by schools themselves direct with suppliers.
