LBC Request : Hate Crime
Dear Merseyside Police,
I wish to know details of all people who have been arrested for hate crime offences over the past five years.
Providing the following by each financial year (2013-14, 14-15, 15-16, 16-17, 17-18) can you list first :
- the arrested person's age
- then their gender
- the type of hate crime (race, religion, disability etc.)
- whether they were charged
- and, only if this is possible, any details you have available on the crime itself; whether online/in person, verbal / physical etc.
I wish to be informed in writing whether you have such information and, if so, I seek the disclosure of that information. If the information is covered by any exemptions, please disclose such information as is not covered by the exemptions.
If you are considering charging for the disclosure of this information, please inform me before any work that would be liable to a charge is carried out.

I write in connection with your request for information which was received
by Merseyside Police on 20/11/2018. I note that you seek access to the
following information:

each of the past 5 years
Following receipt of your request searches were conducted within
Merseyside Police to locate information relevant to your request. I can
confirm that the information that you requested is held by Merseyside
Police.
To locate the information relevant to your request, searches were
conducted in the Data Access Unit. The searches located the records
relevant to your request.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you, subject
to the provisions of Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act.
Section 40 states that personal information is exempt from disclosure.
