Dear Sir / Madam,
Please could you provide details of:

The required savings in 2023/24 due to reduction in funding from government
Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr Chambers
Please see our response to your enquiry below.
Q1 The amount of unpaid council tax in the financial year 2023/24
The amount outstanding as at 1.3.2024 for 2023/24 is £20,330,602.90 (not
including any credit balances)
Q2 The number of cases where council has taken enforcement action for
unpaid council tax
In 2023/24 we have issued 10,157 cases to enforcement agents, for a total
of £10,613,299.86.
Q3 The required savings in 2023/24 due to reduction in funding from
government
For the 2023/24 budget, the Council was required to identify and agree a
number of savings for a variety of reasons, such as pressures resulting
from increased service demand, inflationary pressures, pay and pension
increases and energy price rises. The full list of savings was reported to
Policy & Resources Committee meeting on 13^th February 2023, agenda item
111, appendix 1, and later agreed at Budget Council on 27^th February 203,
minute 82.
