Dear Mr Choudry,

Thank you for your request for information, which was logged on 7 January
2020. I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act
2000, and it has been allocated the number 2020-0000408.

You asked for the latest statistics for the percentage of pupils that are
eligible for free school meals in primary, secondary and altogether by
ethnic group.

The most recent figures available are from the January 2019 school census,
key information from which is published in the annual release ‘Schools,
Pupils & their Characteristics’ found at
[1]https://www.gov.uk/government/collection....

FSM eligibility totals are available in table 4a of this release, and
ethnic group totals in table 5. Tables combining this information are not
published but have been created and provided below and in a separate excel
spreadsheet. Separate tables are given for primary schools, secondary
(including all through schools) and both primary & secondary combined.
